Greek salad



The Greek salad actually doesn’t exist in Greece. It’s just like the Cantonese rice in Canton. There is however always a salad at the table with at least feta and tomato and it's just a salad for them. Then, you can add anything you want. The key (as in any other recipe) is to choose good and ripe vegetables. To make sure the salad is fresh, I place the vegetables in the refrigerator for at least an hour or two before preparing it (since it only takes 5 minutes to make it). With just salt, pepper and a good olive oil, it's a fresh, colorful and super tasty dish!

For 6 people : 
  • A dozen of ripe tomatoes
  • 2 green pepper bells
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 red onion
  • A good handful of olives (black Kalamata or purple ones)
  • 18oz (500g) fresh feta cheese
  • Salt, pepper, olive oil

Wash and cut the vegetables, peppers, tomatoes etc…




The same goes for the red onion. I cut more afterward than on the picture.



Put everything in a big container and stir well.



Salt it and pour a little olive oil over the vegetables. Stir well and pour into the plates or in a large serving dish. Place the feta cheese that you will crush it into pieces with your hands.



Pepper generously and place the olives.



Drizzle with olive oil.



It's ready!! I am showing you the picture when I was string just before eating it. Serve the salad without doing the same! That's precisely why I demonstrate how it looks like as  it's not as pretty for the presentation!



Serve right away!
